Helios advises on decisions, systems, and markets that are unusually difficult, consequential, or poorly understood — matters in which the quality of the underlying model or design determines the outcome, and getting it wrong is expensive.
Helios works at the intersection of quantitative modelling, market design, and strategic judgment. Matters undertaken range from formal probabilistic models and risk quantification to technical due diligence, pre-investment review, market architecture, and continuing counsel to boards and investment committees.
Engagements vary in depth. Some require only a strategic frame and a defensible position; others require the model built, the architecture specified, and the system brought into production. The depth is set by what the problem requires, and the work stops when the required outcome has been delivered.
The firm's founder, Dr. Noah Silverman, has served as head of research and development for hedge funds and institutional exchanges, designed trading and settlement infrastructure in production today, and teaches at the University of Hong Kong. A fuller record appears on the About page.
